Before attending medical school, Dr Isayenko was a medical assistant (MA) for 10 years. During that time, she realized that she wanted to be the first one to diagnose a patient and direct them to the correct specialists. She feels that family medicine physicians are gate keepers, and that every day in family medicine is a unique specialty that allows you to participate in the care of the whole family. Understanding family dynamics and becoming part of these families is a great lifelong experience for her.   “Providing care of all ages, from newborns to the elderly, has its own challenges – but that’s what makes my days exciting,” says Dr Isayenko.
