Five years later he was recruited back at the U of Utah and he has been a faculty member at the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine for >10 years.Dr. Drakos is licensed to practice medicine both in the US and the European Union and is a member of several US and European medical associations. He has published more than 150 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts and medical book chapters and he and his mentees have received over the years several national and international competitive scientific Awards (NIH, AHA, ISHLT, HFSA, et al). Furthermore, he is a regular visiting professor in some of the highest ranked medical centers/medical schools in the United States and internationally (Germany, Britain, China, and the Univ. of Cyprus/Nicosia General Hospital back in his hometown).
