Brian Bethea, MD is the Vice Chief of Cardiac Surgery with the MedStar Heart & Vascular Institute at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital and the regional chief of outreach for the Baltimore region. Dr Bethea's clinical and research interests involve minimally invasive approaches to valvular and structural heart disease. This includes procedures such as TAVR, transcatheter mitral valve repair and replacement, transcatheter tricuspid valve repair and replacement. He has participated in all major US clinical trials for TAVR and has been involved in three transcatheter mitral valve repair and replacement trials. He has also been a proctor for all of the valves and the only US proctor for the Tendyne transcatheter mitral valve replacement platform.
