Barry Abramson, MD, is a board-certified physician specializing in gastroenterology. Dr. Abramson earned his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. He completed his internship, residency and fellowship at Barnes-Jewish Hospital - Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dr. Abramson provides comprehensive gastroenterology care to patients ages 18 and above with gastrointestinal problems and diseases of the GI tract, including acid reflux, celiac disease, Crohn’s disease, gallbladder disease, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), liver disease and pancreatic disorders. He performs colonoscopies, endoscopies, pill cameras and other diagnostic procedures and treatments for various gastroenterology conditions.
Dr. Abramson specializes in gastroenterology because he finds it rewarding to diagnose GI issues and perform procedures that help patients live more fulfilling lives. Dr. Abramson enjoys spending extra time with patients and getting to know them. He is an active member of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation and a former chairman of the mid-America chapter’s medical advisory panel.
Dr. Abramson is married with two adult children. Outside work, he enjoys running, competing in marathons, going on long hikes, and playing piano.
