Tadahisa Sugiura, MD, PhD, is an attending surgeon and Assistant Professor at Montefiore-Einstein. Dr Sugiura’s clinical focus is in structural heart disease, coronary artery bypass surgery, the treatment of end-stage heart failure, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), and cardiothoracic organ procurement. Educated in Japan, Dr Sugiura attended University of Tsukuba School of Medicine from 1997 to 2003, earning his Doctor of Medicine degree. He began his postdoctoral training with a residency at Tokyo Women’s Medical University from 2003 to 2005, followed by a residency at Seirei Hamamatsu General Hospital in Japan from 2005 to 2007.
