She earned her medical degree at the Catholic University of Korea College of Medicine in Seoul. She completed a residency in radiology with the Aultman/Mercy/NEOMED program at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio, followed by fellowship training in abdominal imaging, ultrasound, nuclear medicine and musculoskeletal radiology at UC San Francisco Medical Center.
Lee has published several peer-reviewed research papers in her field and presented her work at national and international conferences
