Dr. Teah Qvavadze is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. The scope of her practice encompasses abdominal and thoracic aortic diseases, arterial aneurysms, peripheral vascular diseases, carotid artery disease, hemodialysis access, pulmonary embolisms, wound care, and venous diseases. She treats these conditions using either endovascular or open techniques. Her special interests are complex aortic diseases.
Dr. Qvavadze received her medical degree from the Davit Tvildiani Medical University in Tbilisi, Georgia. Her internship was completed at Hahnemann University Hospital, Drexel College of Medicine, and her residency was completed at Rutgers Health/Monmouth Medical Center. A graduate of the Jobst Vascular Institute, Dr. Qvavadze completed her vascular surgery training there. During her training, she received several awards, including the Cyril S Arvanitis, MD Memorial Award for excellence in clinical care.
Dr. Qvavadze is a member of the Society of Vascular Surgery, the Midwest Vascular Society, the Vascular and Endovascular Surgical Society, the Society of Clinical Vascular Surgery, and the International Society for Women Vascular Surgeons. She serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Vascular Surgery Cases, Innovations and Techniques and has presented at national conferences.
