Dr Andrew C Kopel was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He graduated with his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He then went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Texas at Houston Medical School. After completing an Internal Medicine internship, Dr Kopel continued his ophthalmology residency at the Tulane Medical School in Louisiana where he received the O'Brien Award for excellence in research. Dr Kopel returned to Houston to complete a fellowship in Vitreoretinal Diseases & Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine.
