Patrick Bering, MD, is a clinical cardiologist who is the medical director for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. He is a member of the MedStar cardiovascular imaging team with a focus on cardiac magnetic resonance imaging and echocardiography (ultrasound of the heart). I am passionate about clinical care for patients and their family members with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. HCM is a condition that wears many faces and is unique to each individual. My approach relies on empowering patients through education about their condition and treatment options.
