Sara Lam is an advanced practice registered nurse in pediatrics at the University of Vermont Medical Center. She specializes in newborns, asthma and preventative health.
Sara pursued a career in pediatrics first as a nurse and then as a nurse practitioner because she loves children and has always wanted to make a positive impact on children and their families. She enjoys caring for newborns and educating families on preventative newborn care. Caring for the physical, mental and emotional needs of children is her passion. She believes that by including the family at each visit, she is better able to create a treatment plan designed specifically for each patient, as the family knows the child best. She uses evidence-based medicine and takes into consideration family dynamics, beliefs and needs into each treatment plan. Sara loves to make a positive impact on children from birth through childhood into adulthood, and to see them grow and develop. She believes that a healthy lifestyle begins at a young age and it is her hope that by providing care, support and education to her patients and their families, she is giving them the groundwork for making good choices and living well.
