I grew up surrounded by courageous, independent women and their presence and influence in my life gave me a greater understanding of the particular needs of women, as well as an appreciation for the unique gifts we have to offer the world. I wanted a career that could explore those intersections and caring for women as nurse practitioner allows me to do just that. It satisfies my curiosity for knowledge and understanding of how the human body works, while allowing me the opportunity to also connect with individuals and families in deeply meaningful ways. My ultimate desire is to create a safe space for women to experience personalized care that honors, celebrates, and nurtures her uniquely feminine characteristics. I desire to be an educator and advocate for my patients; ensuring they feel seen, heard, and understood. While my training includes caring for women across the lifespan, my specialty focus at UNC is maternal fetal medicine. This means I have the privilege for caring for women with complex or high-risk pregnancies that may be the result of various medical conditions affecting the mother, the baby, or both. We collaborate with other medical specialties to ensure the safest and healthiest pregnancy and delivery possible. Outside of the clinic, I devote the majority of my time to spoiling my little 13-pound Bichon puppy named CoCo. She is sweet and silly and just a little bit sassy. I have a deep ache in my heart for animal abuse, cruelty and neglect, so I support NC rescues in Raleigh and in Charlotte that focus on rehabilitation and placement with adoptive families. In the near future, I hope to start fostering rescue pups myself.
