Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: I recall the day I had a conversation with my mother about career options in the eighth grade. I was very interested in science and in particular Chemistry. We talked about my Uncle Jack and how he was a dentist. He was a great role model to me, a tremendous mentor. He really enjoyed being a dentist and had a fantastic life balance. In ninth grade, my science teacher asked all the students to write themselves a letter he would then mail in the future. I wrote in the letter that I wanted to major in Chemistry and become a dentist. In High School and college, I visited several dental offices and realized this was the profession for me.
