He then completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Kansas and a fellowship in Hospice & Palliative Medicine at Stanford University before joining as faculty at Stanford. His clinical practice includes both inpatient palliative care consultation as well as ambulatory care in palliative medicine.
