I chose to go into medicine because I've always been a compassionate person and I wanted to have a positive impact. I thought health care would be a good way to do that. I'm passionate about a preventive medicine. If you can get to the core of the issue before it becomes life-threatening, that's something that can help people long-term. It's easy to say, "You have a chronic disease, and these are the medicine we?re going to give you and the surgeries that will help." But if we can figure out the risk factors early and help prevent it, that's really important. I enjoy seeing families as a whole - babies and young families - and watching them grow and seeing those babies become adults and watching those parents become grandparents. I love taking care of the whole family and getting to know them not just on a health care level but knowing them on a personal level too.
