Family medicine is just fun. It's complex. You get to talk with patients and spend time with them, walking them through their problems. You see them in the ups and their downs of life and helping them achieve a higher quality of life. You see babies, pregnant women, elderly people, the whole range. It keeps my mind active, asking questions like, what can be going on? And how can I help this person? I talk with people and help them work through the issues. I'm a good listener and I'm ready to hear what's going on and spend quality time with them with patients - not just getting through things, but really seeing what's going on and how I can help and get them through problems. I've been a part of Mercy for a long time, and the fact that it's faith-based is highly valuable to me. I get to serve the community. That was a big part of my calling to Mercy.
