Dr Matthew Pommerening is an Associate Surgeon in the Division of Thoracic Surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Clinical Instructor in Surgery at Harvard Medical School. Dr Pommerening is a native Texan and graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. He received both his medical degree and general surgery training from the University of Texas McGovern Medical School in Houston, where he also completed a two-year clinical research fellowship and Master of Science degree in Clinical Research. He went on to complete a cardiothoracic surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) followed by thoracic surgery fellowship at the Brigham.
