Dr. Masaru Kubota is an Assistant Professor of Surgery and a transplant surgeon at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He received his MD in General Surgery and his PhD in pancreatic cancer diagnosis and treatment from Osaka University in Japan. He is board-certified in General Surgery and Gastroenterology. His interests focus on liver and abdominal transplant surgery, particularly in situ and ex situ organ machine perfusion, including Normothermic Regional Perfusion (NRP). He is also committed to educating surgical fellows in organ recovery techniques.
