I chose nursing as my profession because it combines my love of science and learning with my natural inclination to care for others. I enjoy the problem-solving aspect of medicine along with getting to be of service. After nursing school, I knew I wanted to continue my education, and I went on to become a nurse practitioner. Since working as a pediatric nurse practitioner since 2015, I know the importance of listening to parents' concerns. They truly know their child best. I also feel that mental health and its impact is just as importance as physical health and work to address both. I was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau international honor society for nursing. I am a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, where I continue to learn in the fields I practice. I grew up in West Virginia and spent my childhood camping and being outdoors. I still enjoy that today and like to visit the U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte and go hiking. I also enjoy cooking and baking, especially for my friends and family. I am passionate about helping the community I live in and volunteer for a local youth crisis center.
