Dr Steven Leers earned his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts in 1978. He completed his surgical training and vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, followed by endovascular training at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr Leers came to UPMC in 2006, and is currently chief of vascular surgery at UPMC St. Margaret and medical director of the UPMC Vascular Laboratories. Along with full service aortic, carotid, endovascular and open vascular surgery, his particular interest and expertise is in the areas of non-invasive vascular testing, lower extremity revascularization, and dialysis access surgery. He sees patients at UPMC St. Margaret and UPMC Shadyside.
