There isn't enough space for me to praise Dr. Acharya. My family moved to FL in the late 70s and, while driving from Palm Beach to the Gulf Coast, my dialysis patient father began to fade - desperately. I was a young girl and watched him turning gray and becoming unresponsive. This was back when you could drive for many miles and not even see a gas station in Florida, and cell phones were science fiction.

We didn't know what to do. My mother had once read about Dr. A's brand new clinic in New Port Richey, so we drove there, hoping he would last and hoping they would take us even though we were not patients and no prior arrangements were made. Also, dialysis clinics were not in every town back then.

You cannot know how terrifying it was to be a young child watching your father potentially die before your eyes and know that hope was in the kindness of strangers a good distance away. Dr. Acharya not only immediately made room at his very busy clinic for my father (not easy in the world of dialysis), but gave him the best of care and took the time to make sure my mother was calm and reassured, and that she could attend to me and my brother as we feared for our father's health and waited outside.

Years later, after my elderly father had died from a heart attack, I ended up working for a doctor who practiced in Dr. Acharya's building. Dr. A. made sure the clinic was as lovely for the patients as it could be. I got to witness the behind the scenes compassion and dedication Dr. A. had for his patients. I could tell you things that you will never hear from other doctors' offices about his kindness and selflessness, his concern over every aspect of the patients' well-being and how he plays tough and professional on the outside, but has the softest of hearts. Healing and providing the best of care and compassion is not only his profession and his passion, but it seems to be his life's blood. I went on to work in healthcare for nearly 10 years in three states and, while I worked with a few very good and caring doctors, I never ever met one like Dr. Acharya. He is one in a trillion.

If there is a God, surely this man deserves the highest of blessings for all his life of hard work and healing. Our family will never EVER forget his kindness and we will always be grateful to him. We always wish him and his lovely family all the blessings life can offer.
