Students must be able to demonstrate competence in the anabolism and catabolism of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, antioxidant systems and integration of the endocrine systems. Both a written and practical examination are required for the DCBCN. In order to maintain this certification, chiropractors must complete a minimum of 16 classroom hours of continuing education in nutrition each calendar year.
