Botanicals and Essential Oils
- Botanicals are herbs and essential oils.
- Essential oils are the secretions from the glands of the plants.
- They have an affinity with the human body and protect us in much the same way as they protect the plant.
- Essential oils are super concentrated and are anywhere from 100 to 1,000 more concentrated than herbal extract.
Botanical-biotics
- Modern scientific research confirms why cultures across the globe have been using botanical-biotics for centuries.
- Nadine calls them botanical-biotics because they work differently to antibiotics.
- We are well past the golden age of antibiotics in the 1940s, and now have decades of antibiotic resistance.
- Esesntial oils continue to come up in research as effective quorum sensing inhibitors.
Esential Oils
- Each drop of an essential oil can have up to 500 to 1,000 different chemical components.
- Examples of essential oils include peppermint, tea tree, cloves, oregano, cardamom, frankincense, and rose.
- Essential oils have a similar action as pathogens, in that they can inhibit the intercellular communication of pathogens without disrupting the communication of healthy cells.
- Essential oils have similar antifungal, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral properties.
- It has been said that ginger is as potent as chemotherapy, without the side effects.
- It is important to work with genuine organic essential oils and use the real distillations.
Monoterpenes
- Essential oils are a classification of a monoterpene.

- Monoterpenes and essential oils will prevent normal cells from proliferating.
Synthetic vs. Natural Essential Oils
