1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon oregano
3 ripe avocados
1 cup cooked garbanzo beans
1 small onion, minced
1 small tomato, minced
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
3/4 teaspoon salt
Cayenne pepper to taste
Combine the water and the spices together in a bowl and set it aside.
Halve the avocados and remove the pits. Scoop out the avocado with a spoon.
Cut the avocado into thirds and add it to the bowl of spices along with the garbanzo beans.
Add the onion and tomato to the bowl of guacamole along with the lemon juice, chopped cilantro, and salt.
Mash the guacamole with a potato masher and fold with a wooden spoon to blend the spices well.
Season to taste with cayenne.
Refrigerate the guacamole, covered, until ready to serve.
