3 chicken breasts, diced small
4 tablespoons olive oil
5 cardamom pods
2 onions, chopped finely
2 teaspoons fresh ginger, finely chopped
2 teaspoons garlic, chopped
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
2 tablespoons tomato puree
Salt to taste
Cilantro to garnish
Water as needed
Place a pan on the stovetop on medium heat and add the oil. Add the cardamom pods when the oil is hot.
Put the onions in the pan and cook until caramelized.
Add all of the spices, including ginger and garlic. Cook for about two minutes.
Add the tomato puree and mix well.
Pour in the water to a liquid consistency and keep stirring until the gravy simmers. Add salt to taste.
Add the chicken into the mixture and heat for about 10-12 minutes, until cooked.
Garnish with cilantro and serve.
