4 slices angel food cake
1 pint strawberries, hulled and sliced
1/2 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cut a round disk of cake out of each slice using a drinking glass. Place each disk in a small bowl.
Break the leftover cake into pieces and set aside.
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the strawberries with the vinegar and ½ tablespoon of sugar. Set aside.
In a larger mixer bowl, combine the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and the remaining sugar with an electric mixer until soft.
Top each cake disk with the strawberry mixture and the broken cake pieces. Garnish with the whipped cream.
