1 1/2 teaspoons wasabi powder, divided
1 teaspoon water
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
2 tablespoons low-fat mayonnaise
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 fresh sushi-grade tuna steaks
Mix one teaspoon of wasabi powder with one teaspoon of water in a bowl to make a paste. Let sit for 10 minutes then add the rice vinegar, mayonnaise, and crushed garlic. Thoroughly mix and set aside.
Heat grill to medium heat. Cook the tuna for 3-4 minutes on each side, or longer if desired.
In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, vegetable oil, and the remaining wasabi powder. Brush this onto the tuna as it cooks.
Thinly slice the tuna and serve with the wasabi sauce.
