5 tablespoons tomato paste
1 teaspoon ketchup
2 teaspoons honey
1 teaspoon molasses
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
4 teaspoons white vinegar
3/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/8 teaspoon ginger, grated
1 1/2 pounds chicken breasts (or drumsticks), skinless
In a saucepan, mix together all of the ingredients except the chicken and simmer for 15 minutes.
Rinse and pat dry the chicken, brush with half the sauce mixture.
Cover and marinate the chicken for 1 hour in a refrigerator.
In a baking pan, place the marinated chicken and broil each side for 10 minutes to seal in juices.
Remove from broiler.
Brush both sides of the chicken with the remaining sauce and cover loosely with aluminum foil.
Bake at 350ºF for 30 minutes.
