1 cup uncooked lentils
1 cup uncooked brown rice
1 1/2 cups carrots, finely grated
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/2 cups uncooked oatmeal
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 small onion, finely grated
In a stove top pan, add 4 cups of water and the lentils. Cook on low heat, covered, for approximately 45 minutes.
In a separate pan, add 2 cups of water and the brown rice. Bring to a boil, lower heat, cover, and cook for approximately 40 minutes.
Cool the lentils and rice and add them to a bowl with the carrots, garlic powder, salt, oatmeal and onion. Stir well.
Mold the mixture into 8 patties. Grill the patties or put them in a pan over medium heat for 5-6 minutes per side. The patties should be brown when done.
