Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tablespoon of vegetable oil

  • 1 1/4 cups celery with leaves, finely chopped

  • 1 1/2 cups onion, finely chopped

  • 1 cup water

  • 1/2 cup orange juice

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

  • Dash of hot sauce

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice, uncooked

  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds

Directions

  • Cook the celery and onions in the oil for about 10 minutes or until tender.

  • In the same pan, bring the water, juices, and hot sauce to a boil. Add the rice, and bring back to a boil. Cover and let stand until the rice is tender and all liquid is absorbed.

  • Add the almonds and serve immediately.
