2 tablespoons Asian fish sauce (nuocmam or nam pla)
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons water
6 cups red or green cabbage finely shredded
1/2 cup slivered red onion, rinsed and drained
1/2 cup fresh mint leaves, chopped
1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
1/2 cup roasted, salted peanuts, chopped

Mix the lime juice, fish sauce, sugar, chile flakes, and water in a large bowl. Add the cabbage and onion, mixing well.
