If you value your health of that of a family member or friend, do not go to this office or anywhere near Dr. Samuel MArkind. He is pompous, arrogant beyond measure, incredibly rude, out of touch and does not care at all about how he is treating people or if they even get a proper diagnosis or treatment.Shameful.

Avoid this neurologist! He is of zero help, rude, condescending, unpleasant and a complete waste of time and money. No one should be subjected to treatment like--- this never mind an elderly patient and the family members who are looking for help. The worst and representative of this group in general. I went to another office and everything was different there. Not treated like a person in this office---just a paycheck and unnecessary attitudes and tests.

The worse doctor I have ever seen. I had a traumatic brain injury after being assaulted, He did not listen to my concerns, told me I was being sarcastic as I was crying. NO compassion I work in healthcare and have for over 10 years. There are not even enough words to describe what a horrible doctor he is. He did nothing to aid in my treatment AND even after telling him I could not take a certain medication due to a allergy, he still went ahead and ordered it.

Do not go to this neurologist. He is arrogant and rude beyond all comprehension. You are treated like an idiot and he does not care in the least. They are test happy--which, of course, they do on site. Please go elsewhere. I did and it is like night and day how different the offices are.

This office is a disgrace beginning with the lengthy answering machine message. How are neurological patients supposed to wade through this menu, remember it and then pick the appropriate number? It is indicative of the practice--no warmth, no caring and money oriented. I was outraged at the tow doctors I saw here and there complete lack of professionalism and concern. Treated my family member as if they were invisible and worthless. MONEY IS WHAT MATTER HERE--NOT YOU.

My father, who has rapidly advancing dementia, was sent a letter by Dr. Markind stating that Dr. Markind was no longer going to be his doctor. The letter also said that my father was dropped as a patient by Associated Neurologists and he was not to contact any doctor in this office to find a new neurologist. I drove my father to an appointment with Samuel Markind during a blizzard. All his other patients cancelled their appointments and I got my Dad there early through sheer diligence on my part. My father cannot operate a car nor can he walk to a mailbox never mind open and read his own mail. Dr. Markind, however, dropped him as a patient by sending him a letter. This office cancelled two of Dad's appointments due to an IMPENDING snowstorm while I drove my father to his existing appointment through hazardous conditions. When my father was physically ill and could not go to his appointment, I cancelled well in advance. I did not cancel at the last minute. Next thing I knew there was a letter stating that Dr. Markind would no longer see my father. I wonder if this office (and I include all the lousy, rude secretaries in this) have ANY idea what it is to deal with a loved one in declining physical health who also has dementia. Where is the humanity in this office? A letter with no personal call is certainly no way to treat a patient or their family member who loves them and tries to get them care. There are very few neurologists to chose from but I recommend that you go anywhere but this huge practice. I have seen three of the neurologists in this office and they were a joke. How dare they reject a sick patient. Walk a mile in my shoes never mind those of my sick loved one. Shame on all of you.

From the time I made the appointment this office was horrible. It takes forever to listen to a message before you can even get the option to talk to someone to make an appointment and then you're left on hold. When we showed up the office smelled of mold and was filthy. It felt like I was on an assembly line shuffling me in and out as quick as possible. I called them because they were supposed to be the "Western Connecticut Concussion Center", but they had my 16 yr. old son meet with Dr. Mankind whose specialty is listed as dementia. He was rude and literally grabbed a pen out of my hand because I wasn't completing all the paperwork quick enough. He spent so much time typing on the computer that I didn't feel like answering my questions was at all a priority. Then I was shuffled back to some woman who seemed very confused and I kept having to ask for the back to school paperwork the Dr. said I would get. When I told her the Dr. wanted my son to return in a week to see the PA she tried to schedule the appointment for 2 weeks later and very obnoxiously informed me that the PA's are busy as well. Of course my son can't return to sports or school until he's cleared, but that didn't seem to matter. The only thing that got me an earlier appt. was threatening to go to another Dr.'s office. Now I've received a bill for $500 when the Dr. spent maybe 15 minutes with my son and I provided both primary insurance and secondary insurance so the amount I owe should be zero. It appears that the lack of competence is rampant in this office. I can guarantee that if I ever need a neurologist again it will not be with this office.
