By far the worst experience. I have a mentally challenged adult child who recently experienced a seizure. This doctor was recommended by my son's psychiatrist. Getting an appt was not a problem, getting it rescheduled was horrific. When we finally got an appt, he was rude, so was his staff. Said we needed to schedule an MRI, EEG and get bloodwork. He upped my son's dosage for anti-seizure meds but never filled out the prescription properly so the pharmacist had to contact him. This took a freakin week. Any messages left were never responded to, to this date my son had his EEG but no response back as to the results and it has been a month and still no MRI scheduled. My husband and I have called repeatedly and no response. I called his psychiatrist, Dr. Niku Singh, best darn psychiatrist ever and he texted the doctor and he didn't even repsond to him. This guy is an idiot! People in healtcare that have attitudes towards patients who are in distress, should quit the practice and get a job picking up trash!

I have seen Dr Peters and both of my children. Lately things in his office have gotten extremely bad. Wait time to see him is about 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour after appointment time. Obviously ovder booking appointments. The worst experience was with my daughter who was on medication that was not working after she went back to school. She called to talk to doctor and have medication changed and no call came back. She proceeded to try to call for the next 6 months leaving message after message and was ignored by doctor or staff. She had to go off medication cold because she could not get anyone to respond and it sent her into a two day depression. She then had signicant problems with the health problem because she was not being treated at all. I called as her mother and got the receptionist and she responded to my daughter, gave her her own personal line and doctors email. She then had medication changed without talking to her and it ended up being a drug she could not take due to heart rate. She called to have it changed and again no response from any line. This doctor and their staff completely ignore patients and will end up in a law suit soon. Do not go to him. My other daughters appointment was a week later and we went to get her presciption refilled. He prescribed the wrong amount and when we called they again did not respond......HORRIBLE DOCTOR!!!!!

I had a bad experience with using Dr. Peters' practicefor migraine treatment.  His office phone lines are only open 9:30-12:00 and 2:00-4:00 Monday through Thursday and 9:30-12:00 on Friday.  Outside that period of time, it is not even possible to leave voice mail.  Even when I called during official office hours, I have been placed on hold for more than 30 minutes, before being automatically cut off,  without ever being able to talk to a person, or being given the option of leaving a voicemail.  At times, it was nearly impossible to request a refill or schedule an appointment.  When I expressed frustration, I was told the phone system was being upgraded, but several years later, nothing had improved.

It seems like Dr. Peters also significantly overbooks because he consistently has long wait times, even early in the morning.  He always seems to be on a very tight schedule, and is very impatient with /  does not listento questions or concerns.  For example, when I told him I was concerned about a medication's side effects and asked if there was an alternative, he told me I had to put up with it, and made no effort to change the dosing or find an alternative.  It seemed to me like Dr. Peters cares more about pushing people through with as little effort on his part as possible than he does about helping his patients or treating their medical problems.  I ultimately found a new neurologist after Dr. Peters prescribed a medication with a known interaction badly with something else he knew I was taking, and I had seratonin storm.  I also had several instances where it took his office more than a week to call in a refill or clarify perscriptions that had been incorrectly written (ie, for dosage strengths that do not exist), and I was unable to access medication that I take on a daily basis.  I also became concerned because, even though I saw him for several years, he never performed a single neurological exam (ie, having me follow his finger with my eyes, and testing my reflexes), which my prior neurologists when I was in college and before I moved here always had.  Instead, he would call me back, handed me my perscriptions, and sent me on my way, while charging my insurance several hundred dollars.

If you are considering using Dr. Peters, there are a lot of talented doctors in the DC area, and you can absolutely do better.

Dr. Peters is amazing - super smart, efficient and caring. He can be a bit tardy for appointments because he spends extra time with patients if needed. I don't mind waiting a bit for the superior quality of care I have received from him. He has worked with me on referrals and listened patiently to my questions. Staff is great and helpful and as a person with TBI, that has been invaluable to me.

He is am amazing doctor and I feel so lucky to have him as my neurologist.
