I just recently started going to Dr. Capobianco (who I call Dr. Capo for short) after I turned eighteen and my neurologist at Nemour's Children's Hospital released me. I've spent the past few years dealing with hydrocephalus after having been diagnosed at sixteen with no cause as to why it began, when it began and no answers as to whether it will worsen in upcoming years. I've seen all three of Nemour's pediatric neurologists, had brain surgery, experimented with numerous medications, seen an opthamologist and several other doctors who have yet to give me many answers. While Dr. Capo was in a somewhat similar situation, he made it clear he also is unsure of the causes of my condition or whether it will worsen in the future. Considering I am only eighteen and my mother was with me at the visit, he spoke directly to me and was very honest about the fact that he didn't have all the answers yet. He discussed the options with us and his theories and helped make a treatment plan for me for the future while assuring us he would be discussing my case with fellow neurologists and my pediatric neurosurgeon who performed my surgery and hasn't release me yet. He made me feel extremely comfortable and his honesty about everything was refreshing and wonderful. He's a very apt and amicable doctor who I look forward to working with in the future.
