Dr. Borst has been my endocrinologist for many years. He had to remove my left thyroid gland which got my thyroid straightened out and i lost 20+ pounds. He has a physician assistant whom I normally see and she will write what lab work I need and I will take it to Lab Corp to have my blood drawn instead of his office. My Lab Corp bill is $35 and Dr. Borst charges me between $350-400 for his lab work. I asked for a script from Dr. Borst to take to Lab Corp and said if he wrote it I could no longer be a patient of his. He said he couldnt make any money if he sent his patients out for blood work. I felt coerced to have them draw the blood there since he had been my only endocrinologist and removed my thyroid and didnt want to change doctors so I let Dr. Borst lab draw the blood. My bill was the usual amount even though I was told Dr. borst would give me a discount. I went again yesterday to Dr. Borst office and was again told no scripts would be written for blood to be drawn anywhere but his lab. That was my last appointment as I told them Borst used to care about his patients and not how much money he made.
