I left the Wellness Center looking for less crowds and kids and found it in downtown Palatine. This is a great upscale health club offering a huge variety of cardio, selectorized equipment and free weights. The executive locker room service and steam rooms are a great bonus after my workout. I have really enjoyed my stay so far and look forward to working with my personal trainer and nutrition coach next week. They also offer massage, but I have yet to try the service.

First off to clarify these were college students in their final semester at home with internships. Apparently this couldn't process through the heads of everyone there, so they were treated like dirt for no other apparent reason. Yes, I understand the owner may be a world class athlete, but he doesn't know how to run a business. You don't publish an ad that states "14 Day Free Trial" with no other stipulations and kick somebody out because they are younger looking. Yes they are technically college students, but they are 22 year old men that will have full-time jobs in less than 6 months and you think its right to kick them out and assume that they are taking advantage of you? I think not, and they should have called the cops immediately when you put your hands on them. They were not acting in anyway that would stipulate this response.

These 3 men have nothing but the utmost respect throughout the community and they were treated horribly. Feel free to ask around. Not only have you lost their business but you will be losing the business of my family members, my friends and a number of potential clients throughout the Palatine area.

So to the owner who made threatening remarks to these young men and said "You don't know who I am," no they don't know who you are, but they do know that they will never forget the way they were treated in your gym. They will never enter your gym again, and they will never stop telling everyone they know that same story. You can try and twist it anyway you want, but this was pure discrimination and harassment of 3 22 year old men looking for a trial membership. I am simply outraged at the way you treated this fine young gentleman.

We have asked for a formal apology, but have yet to receive any response. Please bring this place what it deserves and avoid it at all costs.

If you are looking for other great spots to workout check out Full Potential Fitness(great personal training, lower rates) and the Wellness Center(attached to the hospital, many more options). These places seem to genuinly care about their customers as well.

And I also would like to point out that these "Great Place" response entries were most likely written by the same woman who asked one of these gentleman if they "have boobs," while she was grabbing her chest in an obscene manner. You have got to be kidding me.

Health Quest is a respectful place that prides itself on professionalism and dedication to it's members. There are, however, two sides to every story. The "bad" review was a college kid coming in with a free pass over the holiday break with no intention of becoming a member. He was asked to leave after he became verbally abusive to the staff. We should be thanking this owner for dedicating himself to the professional atmosphere we pay for when signing up. The owner is a respected world class athlete with many years of experience in the health and fitness field. I have always been greeted kindly and shown help when needed. It is a state of the art, spa-like atmosphere that makes me want to come back each day. Health Quest and the owner are both the quality I look for when going to a health club.

I have had one of worst encounters with Health Quest and the owner. I have been searching for a new gym membership when I fell upon Health Quest or what I now consider the worst ran business I have ever experienced. When I first walked in the receptionist was extremely rude and aggressive about signing up for a long term membership. I continually expressed my interest in the gym but would like to look around more. She gave me a tour of the gym by standing behind her desk and pointing in the direction which she thought things were. Towards the end of the "tour" an older man, who I later found out was the owner, appoarched me and basically asked if I was going to sign up or not and if not I should hurry up and leave. He also was extremely aggresive and some people might even question if it was roid rage that influence his aggression. I honestly was extremely uncomfortable in Health Quest atomsphere. I would not recommend this facility to anyone unless you like a subpar gym with worst business owner running it.
