I wish I would of done more research before my appointment. It was really hard to get an appointment. She has a very busy (not work related) schedule. When I did have an appointment it was cancelled last minute. This is extremely frustrating. Also, when I managed to actually have an appointment she was very distracted and often referenced other clients or family members. I found her to be very unprofessional, not really focused on my issues and of no help at all.

Other patient's information was brought up during sessions. My own information was not kept private either. The lack of confidentiality is appalling. She is constantly on the phone during session and is always late. She coerces patients by threatening to stop being their therapist. Her advice is not helpful and at times she discusses her own issues rather than the patient's.

They always make sure to return my phone call as soon as possible. They've never left me waiting. I love that they are always more than happy to answer my questions, and actually welcome questions. I've felt awkward at some other places I've visited when I've tried to ask a lot of questions, but not here. It was nice to see them treat their staff with so much respect. It was obvious that they had a good relationship with all of their staff members.

It's shocking to me how I was contacted on behalf of one of her clients and I expressed my feelings and when she didn't like what she heard, she told me I should stop contacting her and that I need a therapist. She's unprofessional and one sided. Therapists are supposed to listen. They just try to keep people coming back for more and make others feel like they're the ones with the problem. I wouldn't recommend Kathy Sloan if my life depended on it.
