My daughter was seeing Bernadette on and off for quite some time. Last summer my teenage daughter became angry with me for interfering in her life too much and for reasons stemming from her father showing her our divorce papers. We are divorced and have joint custody. My ex was found guilty in 2009 for parental alienation (doing/saying things to turn my children against me). Due to my daughter's distress, she "chose" not to see me for 3 months, which was something she's done in the past. My ex was happy--he sued me for child support and won.
During those 3 months, I left countless messages on Bernadette's line asking if my daughter was seeing her and if she was okay. I didn't want detdetadetails...I simply wanted to make sure SHE was receiving the care of a therapist. My ex had also been found by DYFS to have withheld much needed therapy in the past and my concern was that she was pulled from therapy.
I did not receive ONE call back. My daughter was a minor, and this was just hideous to me. I liked Bernadette when my daughter first saw her, but find this incident unforgivable/unprofessional considering she knew of my ex's past concerning alienating my children, focusing on money AND my daughter being denied treatment by him for much-needed therapy.
