They answered most of my questions but I could have used more information. Their staff was friendly enough, but they didn't go out of their way to help me. I felt like my needs were mostly met, but they didn't make any extra effort. The office was easy enough to find. If I were in some kind of an emergency I'd go back. Otherwise, I'm going to look for something better. There is a high turnover rate with the medical assistants, so don't be surprised if there is someone new if you go back.

My friend got really sick with food poisoning yesterday. It came suddenly and she was so sick that she could not stand on her feet and even the slightest movement made her very nauseous. It just so happened that we were right next to this medical office when she fell sick. Through great effort I walked over to the office and asked for help. After taking a quick glance at my puking friend Bijan said "she will need a shot and an IV, but that will take too long and I cannot administer it right now as I am on my way to lunch. You need to drive her to a hospital" I tried pleading with him as my friend was in no condition to be driven anywhere, but he just got angry with me. Finally he said "doctors are people too and I need to eat" and walked out. It took me four hours, with the "tech support" I was receiving over the phone from another doctor I knew to transfer this suffering person several blocks up Ventura Blvd to Encino Medical Urgent Care office where she finally got her shot and a very attentive Doctor took great care of her. But this Bijan Farah is no doctor! His kind of behavior is unacceptable! I am escalating this complaint through proper channels.

I have been a patient of Dr. Bijan Farah for about 3 years now and felt compelled to go on every site I could find and write this review. I am not one to do this kind of thing, so believe me when I tell you about how wonderful a doctor this man is. I found Dr. Farah a few years ago from a referral from ANOTHER doctor. Yes, that's right. I had just moved to the area and was looking for someone who would not only accept HMO patients, but also treat them equally to PPO patients. I'm sure whomever is reading this can understand this issue. I've gone through about a dozen other doctors who don't want to "deal" with HMO's nor do they give me the personalized treatment I pay for AND deserve! The doctors I've encountered recently are "in it for the money" and never even bother remembering your name. I needed someone who could take care of my family and me. Basic "general doctor" needs. He does so much more than that (urgent care; skin care center, etc), but that was all I was looking for. Someone who would listen to me and spend as much time as I needed with him. I don't have any major medical conditions, although when I did hurt my back last year he was very understanding that the pain I was experiencing was real and was very understanding with my pain killer prescriptions. He understood that I needed help and never once did he give me a hard time when I asked for my refill. Unfortunately, anytime one goes to a doctor with "pain" and asks for any kind of help (ie Vicodin, etc) doctors are hesitant to offer anything. They usually put you through 20 questions; try to sway you into other remedies (although most of us had tried everything beforehand, which is why we ended up AT the doctor's office); ask that you come in 2 to 3 times a week for treatment on your back instead, etc. etc. Most of us work for a living and can't spend hours a week in the doctor's office. Dr. Farah refilled my prescription for as long as my back gave me pain. I did his stretches and exercises at home on my own time (after work!) and, in time (a few months), my back was eventually back to normal and I no longer needed the pain killers or the home exercises. The reason I felt compelled to write this review happened just the other day. As I just stated above, my back was "cured" and I returned to normal. Until recently. I re-injured my back moving boxes in my garage. I immediately called Dr. Farah and made an appointment. Unfortunately, there are a lot of "abusers" out there who ruin it for the rest of us honest folk. Most doctors look at their patients now-a-days as someone looking for pain killers for recreational purposes. Those of us who actually "need" them end of suffering because of this. I ran to see Dr. Farah as soon as I injured myself and NOT ONCE did he look at me like or treat me like a "criminal" looking for a fix. For this, I write this review so that those of you looking for a great and understanding (and generous!) doctor....you have found him. He is located in the heart of Encino (although anyone from anywhere can be one of his patients). If you're looking for the best doctor in Encino (or, in my opinion, in the world) you've finally found him! And, please remember to state Valerie sent you....his favorite patient, of course. ;-) Valerie (Encino)
