I was a patient of Dr. Bergman's for about four years, but I actually only saw her about two times. The other times I came in for my check-ups I saw her nurse practitioner's. Now I have no problem talking to and seeing a nurse practitioner but I expected to see the doctor. My co-pay is expensive and it would be nice to see the doctor and actually speak with her on the phone for test results. The nurse practitioners were all nice but they are not doctors and they could never tell me anything about my condition that I didn't already research and know myself. If Dr. Bergman was too busy to meet with her own patients she should see less patients during the week.

But the breaking point for me came when I started having a serious problem with my health unrelated to the condition I was seeing Dr. Bergman for but one for an endocrinologist. The nurse practitioner sent me for a serious of test. Afterward I was told there was nothing wrong me the test were inconclusive. And I could never speak with Dr. Bergman on the phone or get her to call me back. The nurse practitioner was the one to call me back with the excuse that Dr. Bergman will only call you back if she felt the test warranted a call back. WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!! The symptoms persisted and worsened to the point that I might have been hospitalized or worse, had I not gone for a second opinion. Dr. Elizabeth Bergman and her nurse practitioners are in my opinion a serious risk to their patients.
