Going to Garrison Family Medical Group will help you to reach death quicker. If you want someone to help raise your blood pressure and then sell you pills to fix it while putting you through a myriad of unnecessary tests go to Dr Garrison.

I have had numerous bad experiences with this practice over the some odd 10 years I would find myself in their office while I was living in the Antelope Valley. I wish I had just found a different doctor and abandoned this place long ago; however, being that my whole family went there it seemed like it would be okay...eventually.

Beyond the fact that even with an appointment you will wait at least an hour in the waiting room, to wait another 30 minutes in a room in the back before anyone helps you almost every individual in this office is completely incompetent.

My brother went through a series of experiences where the doctor he was seeing fed his paranoias with useless and expensive creams, that did not heal or successfully treat his ailments. Dr. Garrison himself continued to say it was okay for my diabetic father to drink alcohol the entire time my father attended this practice. And I have been given bill after bill for things I didn't even understand I was having done.

My latest experience involved a number of people in the office all of which proved to be very unhelpful and even offensive. I went in to get a simple refill on my Nuvaring, I was on the last day of my period, I was still bleeding but Dr. Robertson thought what the hell why not do a pap smear! I was interested in getting myself checked out because my insurance covers a once the year sexual health examination to make sure everything is looking good. After she finishes the pap, she sends me to LabCorp next door to get STD tests (again unnecessary since I have one partner). I get my prescription and on my marry way I go, naive believing that I would not have to pay for all these things and they would be rung up as my once a year. Robertson also communicated to me that if my pap had a negative result she would not be able to tell me over the phone (since I live in San Francisco) so I told her to just let me know if I needed to see another doctor to get things looked at again.

Here's the fun part.

I get a call from the office telling me that my pap smear came out abnormal. Then I get a card in the mail saying that my pap smear came out normal. I call the office to find out what's actually going on with my pap and they can't find my files. I call back every day for three days until someone actually keeps me on hold while they go to figure out where my files are. No one had bothered to call me back at any point before now. They tell me that it is slightly abnormal and that they will speak to the doctor and get back to me. They gave me a prescription without telling me what type of medicine it was and when I took it, it made me very sick. Later I get two bills in the mail for $195 worth of lab results. After many conversations with the office I find out that they cannot bill the procedures as my once a year because they did not perform a physical on me, something that was not communicated to me as being required.

I eventually speak with the CFO to discuss the bills, who upon me informing him that I intend to pursue this issue in court because I am dissatisfied with the treatment and then concurrent billing. He then states that if I am to go to court all the information regarding my sex life will become public. Not only do I not understand what any of this has to do with my sex life, but I then let him know that I feel that he has sexually harassed me by threatening me with my reputation.

From this point forward no one in the office says they can help me any longer so I am filing a complaint against them through the Better Business Bureau and encouraging that anyone else that may have negative experiences with this practice follow suit. I am so upset at the treatment I have received through this practice and I hope to keep as many people as possible from having an experience such as mine. They are almost always unavailable. It was difficult to get an ideal appointment time that fit my schedule. The staff must have not been trained very well. Almost every time I would ask them a question, they'd refer me to their boss or someone else. Whenever I have a question, even if it's very basic, they always make me schedule an appointment, which is extremely frustrating. There was lots of available parking at their office. I was glad that I didn't have to drive around looking for parking.
