My boyfriend has been on methadone under Dr. Lovett's care for the past 2 years, and in the process has done all but kill him. A year and a half ago, the clinic Dr. Lovett is still operating, nearly killed him by giving him the incorrect dose repeatedly over a period of a week.

When he began he was at 290 mgs. Within a week's time, they dropped the dosage to 30 mgs, raised it back to 60 mgs, and by the end of the week, had him back to 130 mgs.

After all of this, his brain had swelled to the point where he was vomiting profusely, and had lost most of his normal motor skills and had to be rushed to the emergency room. When told about what had happened, they claimed the mistake was made by the computer that administers the amount of methadone in each dose, and were therefore, not liable. Ever since, he faces nausea, migraine headaches, vomiting, vertigo, light-headedness, and more recently, short-term memory loss, on a daily basis.

I, myself, am a patient of Dr. Lovett's and have been disappointed in the treatment he has provided me with. Referred to Lovett by a relative of mine for psychiatric help with depression, he has done nothing but put me on a rollercoaster ride of experimenting with antidepressants. My first visit consisted of the typical measurements of height and weight and reading of my blood pressure, and that was where the professionalism ceased.

After magically wrapping my past up into a ten minute conversation, he had already written a script for 30mgs of Lexapro and had me out the door. When it came time to refill the script, the insurance claimed to need to speak to him, and found that he was unreachable and wouldn't be able to refill my prescription. After running out, I went through withdrawals for a period of 3.5 weeks where I was plagued by violent mood swings, loss of appetite, dramatic weight loss, insomnia, nightmares, and severe depression.

When he was finally available to see me two weeks ago, I was greeted with another ten minute conversation and a new script for 30 mgs of Cymbalta. Ever since, I'm back to having the violent mood swings, and have experienced night sweats, hot flashes, increased loss of appetite, and loss of sleep.

It was only today that we found out that we had the same doctor, so I was obviously compelled to research what others had to say and felt I had to do my part to keep others from possibly making the same mistake we have.

Dr. Lovette is as unprofessional as they come. He put me on methodone, within a day my ankles swelled to the size of softballs and I had trouble breathing. I called his office every other day for THREE weeks and never got as much as a call-back from even a receptionist. Additionally he took more than 15 days to sign an insurance form for mediction he wrote. Needless to say, the 16th I fired him. This is the worst doctor I have ever had the unfortunate experience of seeing.
