Luis Hernandez refused to see my son b/c he doesn't have a PPO insurance plan. However the doctor IS listed as an available doctor BOTH PPO and HMO on our insurance roster. When I spoke with my insurance they told me it was the doctor's responsability to request removal from the panel of available doctors. One can only assume he doesn't want his name removed so that he can see the PPO patients but not the EPO patients. That isn't how it works, either you see them all (PPO AND EPO) or you don't see them at all.
Further more, his office staff is extremely RUDE. I basically had to do all the work for them. I had to call my ins co & ask them to fax his eligibility to their office b/c they were going to treat him as a cash patient instead of calling the insurance themselves to verify eligibility. Then after I got the insurance faxed to them the doctor STILL refused to see him b/c he is EPO. Although EPO isn't HMO it is still billed like an HMO insurance. Furthermore the staff said they didn't know why they have his name listed as available. That's b/c he only wants the PPO business and not the EPO/HMO. This is Discriminatory &UNETHICAL health practice. If this is how he behaves towards patients with insurance he doesn't like, imagine how he would treat you/your child/mother/wife/husband for any other reason he doesn't like about your insurance plan. I can't stop people from going to him, but thankfully I can give my opinion. I reported him to my insurance plan & the IPA he is affiliated with & now to the BBB!

No, they were able to provide everything they said they would
