If you are looking for a physician who is covered by your insurance, who will then run tests and procedures that are not covered by your insurance, Dr. Shahnizarian is the one for you!!! Now, I am not blaming Dr. Shahnizarian for picking my insurance. As a patient of his (and any other physician), I expect that the physician will investigate as to whether the procedure they are prescribing will be covered by my insurance. If it does not, it is critical that the disclosure is made, so that the patient understands. Otherwise, this creates a huge degree of mistrust. My experience was Dr. Shahnizarian has been very pitiful. I went in for a routine physical, which resulted in nothing substantial, and a bill for labwork that Dr. Shahnizarian has prescribed, without the common decency whether the scribbles he prescribed were in my insurance plan.
