They would never suggest that I buy something that wasn't necessary, and never pressured me. They were always very considerate and professional. They are nice but WAY overbooked and the staff is clearly overworked. They should really allow for more time in between appointments if they want to keep any business. Their state-of-the-art facility offers some of the latest equipment in orthopedic surgery I have ever seen. It was such a relief to know they had such an outstanding and impressive facility. I've never had to worry about them being understaffed or not being able to help me right when I need it. They have a huge staff that's very knowledgeable and qualified. I was so impressed with the progress I was able to make after visiting them. All my questions were answered, and I feel a lot more confident and hopeful about the future.

They are an absolute expert in the field. I would never feel unsafe or apprehensive in their care. They were by far one of the best I've ever seen in their field. It was obvious that they've been exceeding their clients' expectations for many years. One of the first things I noticed about this business was the level of detail and attention to make the building handicap-accessible. Even the bathrooms were designed to be accessible with doors wide enough to accommodate wheelchairs and grab bars in the stalls. You could tell they really made an effort to accommodate people with all different needs. I got an appointment quickly. I've never had to wait too long.

I was completely at ease during my appointment here. They went to great lengths to make sure I was completely relaxed and comfortable the entire time. They make an extra effort to get to know their patients and find out what they need. They always remember me and make me feel very important. They were one of the kindest, most caring staff I've ever dealt with. It didn't matter how many times I called with a question or concern, they were always happy to help me.

Dr. Shafer replaced my hip using a Birmingham Hip resurfacing procedure. I am 43 years old. Hip pain is gone, and 3 months later I am almost done with the cane. He is an excellent surgeon, very nice, very professional. His facility in Watervliet, Michigan, participates with Medicaid as well.
