As a registered nurse, I always solicit opinions from my co-workers on who to see with a problem. I first went to see Dr. Gary Dix as a second opinion after seeing another local orthopedic doctor. The previous doctor (Dr. Hxxxxxxxx) was unable to correctly diagnose or fix my excruciating back/hip/buttocks pain.

I arrived at the office and was taken in quickly, on time. Dr. Dix listened to my story about my problem, reviewed my MRI results, and told me exactly what he thought my problem was.

He next performed a thorough focused exam on my problem areas (something the other MD never did). We then sat down, he explained precisely what the problem was and discussed options. His recommendation was surgery.

Each and every person I met with in his office including the PA, surgical scheduler and office staff treated me with professionalism and respect. This even extended on to the staff at AAMC hospital.

I am pretty much pain free, and am now in the process of strengthening my muscles to gain my life back.

As a nurse it was refreshing to receive quick, and honest answers, with care that was exemplary!
