I have been Dr. Buchbaum's patient for many years, but I am seeking a new podiatrist. Dr. Buchbaum charged me $450 for an ankle brace that retails online for $100 (and it is, therefore, safe to assume he paid less than $50 for it). The insurance company confirmed that he has complete discretion over what to charge for medical equipment. While I expect a doctor to mark up the cost of anything I buy from him, $450 for a plastic/velcro brace is offensive and outrageous. Further, when I called him to discuss it, he never returned my calls. As the other reviews said, his staff is pleasant and the office is clean; however, I would be very wary of being ripped off.

Not at all! They always try to get me in as soon as possible
