He did a bunion and hammertoe surgery on me that messed my foot up so bad I have needed two subsequent revisions, by a MD foot and ankle specialist. He is arrogant. Further, he lied to me. Six YEASR of foot issue due to his failed surgery.

Not recommended. He did a bunion surgery and hammertoe surgery on me that failed. I have since learned it was not done correctly. He did not pin the toes, let me walk on a pinned bone within 2 weeks. He did not use blood thinners to prevent a pulmonary embolism. He also lied to me about this other many other things. He is very arrogant and his average office wait time is well over an hour.

Excellent doctor with a wonderful footside manner and efficient staff. BUT he's so popular it's hard to get an appointment.

Dr Silverstein is a good podiatrist. The wait in the Hartford office is always too long. So now I just call ahead and ask how backed up he is. The receptionist will let you know when you should arrive so that the wait isn't ridiculous. On some occasions I have actually had to wait in the hallway - so calling ahead is just what you need to do.
Also, West Hartford tends to have a shorter wait time, especially if you make an early appointment.

Dr. Silverstein performs absolute quality work and is a very likable doctor. However, on every occasion I have gone to his office I have had to wait extremely long periods of time, with the latest being over an hour. Every patient in the waiting room (three with the same appointment time as I) reported similar experiences. This wait is substantial enough to make me reconsider returning; however, if you do not mind the wait, he is an extremely competent doctor (evident through the majority of patients that do not hesitate to return).
