Dr. Merkle is a good enough doctor but his staff members are rude and unprofessional. They also seem to have quite a bit of communication problems amongst themselves. Example: I went in for a follow-up visit after a trip to the emergency room concerning heart rate and blood pressure issues. I was told to continue the water pill that the e.r. doctor gave me and come back in 2 weeks. When I went back, Dr. Merkle said "I was hoping to have your test results back by today". I told him that I had not had any tests. He had instructed his nurse on the day after my visit to call and schedule me for an Echocardiogram, Stress Test and Heart Holter Monitor. She never did it so my visit that day was a waste of time and co-pay money. When they called me the next morning to advise of my test day and time they said "I don't know how you got out of here yesterday without giving blood...he wants to test your thyroid". Well, they didn't tell me that and they didn't take or send me to the lab. Then, when I went back the next day for the labwork, the lab tech was on vacation and no one else could draw blood so I had to wait another 5 days for her to return from vacation just to have blood drawn. Now, a month after my e.r. visit, I still am walking around with untreated blood pressure because he doesn't have all the test results he wants before treating me. Very frustrating!!!
