Dr. David Baines has been my doctor ( by my choice) for going on 3 years. Before him I was shuffled around a lot since moving to Alaska. Dr. Baines has been the most caring and nicest doctor I have found in Anchorage, AK. He truly listens to what you have to say, and does not make you feel rushed, or like he is to busy for you. He also trusts his patients instincts about their own bodies, but still gives his expert opinion. I've had pain and problems for years that went undiagnoised by others, and just labled Fibromyalgia, therefore the other doctors did not have to look for the cause of pain. Dr. Baines not only looked, but found it. I don't have Fibromyalgia. He's not afraid to let you know he's a family man, and sharing things, so you feel like you are dealing with a real person! He treats you as a person, not a number! I cannot say enough good things about this man and Doctor to do him justice. I refuse to be seen by any other doctor, as long as he is around, even if that means waiting for an opening. He is one of those type of doctors, that if not for his proffesionalism, and the fact he is my doctor..I'd want as a personal friend! I trust him enough to do my chemotherapy with him monitoring it, when that was not his expertease. He has overcame obsticles in his own life such as an accident when young that left him in a wheel-chair. His down time he used to go to medical school. He's been through countless surgeries himself, and understands pain. Today he walks..not pain-free, but you would not know that by his complaining. He doesn't complain. He just looks deeper, and treats people as individuals, and above all people! If you want a test ran, that other's may think silly, he will see that it is done, so you have peace of mind. I trust and respect this doctor to the uttmost! I feel respected in each visit. I wish I could say that about all doctors, but we all know..that we can't. I trust him enough that if he moved to another practice, and I could aford to move I'd follow, so I could retain my doctor. I'd be willing to drive over an hour to see him! Like I said..there just isn't enough good things I can possibly say to describe him. He's kind, considerate, proffesional, and wise. If you are fortunate enough to land him as a doctor, hold onto him, he's a diamond in a sea of cubic zirconia. I'd proudly sign my real name to this if I could. Not for brownie points, but because I stand behind what I've written. I doubt he ever looks at this site. If my kids weren't native ( meaning they get free medical elsewere, I'd gladly have him be the doctor. He also use to preform surgeries, but due to his own pain standing for legnths of time had to stop. He loves to deliver babies. No, I don't have babies. I feel both fortunate, and grateful to have him as my doctor. Next to him, the others look calous, and uncaring. Oh, PS, if you have a problem, he is stumped by, he will continue to think about it, and the solution, when he's off work.
