I recently had an anterior approach hip replacement surgery at Northwest Medical Center in Tucson AZ. I felt ready to go home after two days but I was being pressured to get a blood transfusion before I was released. I was not severely anemic and didn't want the added risk factor of another person's blood in me at a time when I was vulnerable. The nurse attending me was ill-tempered and angrily berated me for not complying, but Dr. Baghdadi came to my bedside and respectfully listened to me. She then gave the order for iron instead of blood. Thanks to her, I was able to go home to recover. Her kindness has stayed with me and remains my only positive memory from my hospital experience. I would recommend her to any person seeking a physician with intelligence and compassion.
